When buying a home, consider these few tips

- First get pre-qualified by a lender to find out how much you can afford, how much cash you need at closing and how can you obtain a mortgage loan through a lender.

- Write down the requirements that you are looking for in a home such as how many bedrooms, bath, price range, subdivisions, etc.

- Start your search which you can do with a help of a realtor or on your own. A realtor has access to more inventories of home on the market then listed in magazines, newspapers, real estate books etc.

- Find the property you like and make an offer include the earnest money with the offer.

- Once an offer has been accepted, get in touch with your mortgage officer to get the loan and an attorney.

- Prior to closing, do a walk through of the home
